Rotterdam Airport is a small airport compared to its larger rival, Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport. However, the airport successfully caters for all the important needs of travellers. The quality of service here, as in the Netherlands in general, is of the highest quality.
The airport provides a limited range of business services, along with first-class dining options and essential and non essential shopping.
Airport Information Desks
There is one airport information service desk located in the Transit Hall. The desk handles all information inquiries regarding flights, hotel information and public transport tickets. It also has fax facilities and can provide telephone cards.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
The Rotterdam Airport Shop is located in the Departures Hall. It sells a range of goods, from tobacco and alcohol to luxury designer clothing, cosmetics, jewellery and giftware. When travelling to destinations outside of the European Union, a discount system is in order for alcohol (25 per cent) and tobacco (40 per cent).
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
Rotterdam Airport has two restaurants. De Brasseri is a luxury self-service restaurant that offers an assortment of hot and cold delicacies and beverages, while there is also a selection of newspapers on offer here. The Horizon Restaurant is located on the first floor of the main building and it serves a range of quality dishes; the sun roof is a great place to unwind while you are waiting for your flight.
Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities
There are ABN Amro ATM's located in the Transit Hall and the main terminal building. There is no bank or currency exchange service available and travellers are advised to change currency prior to their arrival at the airport.
Business and Conference Facilities
There is one conference room in the airport complex, while fax facilities are available at the information desk in the Transit Hall. Wireless Internet is available throughout the main building and can be paid for via credit card.
VIP Lounge
The Rotterdam Airport Lounge is accessed via a short staircase in the Departures Lounge. Visitors who wish to enter free of charge require a special pass that can be obtained as a special KLM passenger or as a member of Wexas Travel Club. For those who wish to relax in the lounge but don't have a special pass, a fee is charged and payment can be made in the Departures Lounge. The lounge itself is a great place to catch up on work, read and have a snack or a refreshing drink.
Disabled Facilities
Rotterdam Airport (RTM) was designed with disabled travellers in mind. The most important aspect of the design is the level floor surface. There are all the usual facilities such as disabled toilets, elevators, wheelchair ramps and designated disabled parking. Items such as walking frames and crutches are free of transport charge, as are guide dogs for the blind. Rotterdam Airport (RTM) advises disabled travellers to contact the airport prior to arrival if any special assistance is required.
Accommodation
The Golden Tulip Rotterdam Airport Hotel is conveniently located next to the airport and is only a 10-minute drive from Rotterdam city centre. The hotel caters for business functions, weddings and special celebrations as well as providing accommodation for those who are flying from or have just arrived at Rotterdam Airport. There is a cosy bar area, á la carte restaurant and a hairdresser's on the premise.
Luggage Lockers
For those wishing to be luggage-free, there are lockers located in the Transit and the Central halls of the terminal building, near to the Horizon Restaurant. There is a small charge levied; payment machines accept cash only. Payment is valid for 24 hours, after which time you will need to pay extra when retrieving your luggage.
Travel Agents
The Travel Slide travel agent is located in the Transit Hall and provides information and bookings for both business and holiday travel. Travel Slide specialise in flights that leave from Rotterdam Airport (RTM). For those who book through Travel Slide, there is an offer for up to three weeks of free airport parking.
Others
Panorama Promenade is located near to the Horizon Restaurant. It is a runway viewing balcony, providing passengers with a fun way to while away the time while waiting for a flight.
